Steampunk Men
Traditional coloring books begin with finished black outlines and ask you to decide how to color the picture. Drawing books often begin with a blank page and expect you to construct the artwork yourself.
Steampunk Men takes a different approach.
This first book in the Pix Pics Ink Trace & Draw series combines tracing, drawing, and coloring into one creative process. Instead of beginning with a blank page, you begin with an illustration already waiting to be revealed.

From Light-Gray Lines to Finished Artwork
Every illustration starts with carefully designed light-gray lines on a clean white page.
Choose a black pen, fine-liner, pencil, or marker and begin following the lines. As you work, the pale illustration gradually becomes darker and more defined. What initially appears to be a faint image develops into a finished high-contrast drawing.
The process is simple:
- Trace the lines.
- Draw the artwork.
- Then add color if you wish.
The artwork is already there—you simply reveal it, line by line.
A Steampunk World of Portraits and Machines
Steampunk Men contains 50 male illustrations inspired by the visual language of steampunk and Victorian-era fashion.
The collection includes a variety of portrait formats, from close-up and waist-up compositions to three-quarter and full-body figures. The characters are surrounded by mechanical details such as gears, pipes, dials, handles, levers, wheels, and other industrial elements.
Some illustrations also incorporate architectural features such as arches, doorways, and window frames, adding depth and atmosphere without overwhelming the central character.
The result is a collection that combines portrait drawing with mechanical and Victorian-inspired imagery.

Designed for Tracing and Coloring
The book is designed for people who enjoy creative activities but don’t necessarily want to start by constructing an image from scratch.
You don’t have to work out proportions, facial features, clothing, poses, or background composition yourself. The illustration provides the visual structure. Your role is to follow it.
Once the tracing is complete, you have a finished monochrome drawing. At that point, you can simply enjoy the ink artwork—or continue to the optional coloring stage.
This creates a satisfying visual progression:
Light gray → Black ink → Color
Each stage changes the appearance of the artwork.
A Different Kind of Creative Activity
Steampunk Men is not a step-by-step drawing tutorial, and it is not a handwriting practice book. It is also more than a conventional coloring book.
It offers a guided creative experience in which the reader participates in the transformation of prepared artwork.
That makes the process approachable for beginners while still leaving room for experienced artists and colorists to experiment with pens, line weight, shading, and color choices.
The final artwork can remain monochrome or become a fully colored interpretation.
